INTRODUCTION:

The biggest independent day school for boys in the United Kingdom is Manchester Grammar School (MGS). Since its founding in 1515, the university has produced many illustrious graduates, referred to as "Old Mancunians," including a chemistry Nobel laureate and renowned mathematicians, journalists, and cryptographers. The teaching philosophies of the school are based on initiatives to offer students diversity in and outside of the classroom. The extensive curriculum encourages students to actively question the world and look for methods to make it better. It covers everything from science, computer science, English, and classics to design, drama, MFL, and philosophy.

Numerous organizations and groups make up the enrichment program, which covers nearly every conceivable topic of interest. MGS is renowned for being among the best Duke of Edinburgh schools in the North of England, where kids are encouraged to set personal goals, develop lasting friendships, and have a great time doing it. The philosophy of this outstanding educational facility emphasizes the development of boys' leadership potential concurrent with their capacity for teamwork, promoting the pursuit of excellence in all subject areas. Gaining from these and many more favorable conditions, students go on to love learning for the rest of their lives and employ their skills for the good of society.

ADMISSION GUIDELINES:

May, September, and November are when MGS hosts guests on campus so they can thoroughly inspect the facilities and get to know important staff members. The Head usually gives a speech to start the celebration, and refreshments are served at the conclusion.

Oversubscription Criteria:

There are no oversubscription criteria.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Assessment Day is held by Manchester Grammar School for all aspiring pupils. Every boy comes to the school for a day when he attends classes and takes part in different group activities. The lessons cover new subjects that the lads haven't been taught yet, along with math. The boys will be required to complete an assignment involving creative writing and will have their knowledge evaluated during the day. This kind of evaluation is used by MGS because it provides valuable information about each boy's suitability for the educational philosophy of the school and is crucial to the admissions process. January is designated as Entrance Examination Day when official English and Arithmetic papers are administered. We will ask for a recommendation from each boy's current school. An interview might also take place. You can use this page to access application forms. There is a £40 registration fee.

CATCHMENT AREA:

There is no catchment area for the school.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES:

Manchester Grammar provides means-tested bursaries to students whose families are unable to cover the cost of attendance. The amount of need and the applicant's academic aptitude, which are evaluated during the admissions process, are taken into consideration when allocating the rewards.

Please be aware that households earning more than £53500 grossly will normally be deemed ineligible, but households earning less than £29500 will have their payments fully remitted.
