EXAM FORMAT:

Children applying for 11+ entry to King Edward's School Witley are required to take the ISEB Common Pre-Test, an online exam created by the Independent Schools Examination Board. Typically taken in the autumn term of Year 6, this adaptive test includes multiple-choice questions across four subjects: Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The Maths section covers Year 5 national curriculum topics, while English questions assess reading comprehension and language skills. Verbal Reasoning evaluates problem-solving abilities with written information, and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests logic through figures and diagrams.

The test lasts about 2.5 hours and can be taken in one sitting or across separate sessions, with short breaks between subjects if done in one day. In addition to the test, the admissions team will require a recent school report and will schedule an interview with a member of staff.
