INTRODUCTION:

Established by Richard Platt in the latter part of the sixteenth century, Aldenham School is an independent coeducational school located in Hertfordshire that accepts pupils ranging in age from eleven to eighteen. When it was first founded, the school was exclusively for males, but in 1875 it opened to girls as well and became fully coeducational. The school has improved its facilities through renovations throughout the years, with boarding rooms receiving special attention. Notably, to meet the growing number of female students, Riding's House changed into a girls' day house in 2017. Seniors at Aldenham School are encouraged to have a passion for learning, and the school places a strong emphasis on fundamental courses like physics, math, science, philosophy, religion, ethics, physical education, computers, and languages.

With characteristics like a recording studio, a music technology suite, a brain scanner in the psychology classroom, and a 3D printer in the design technology classroom, the school is dedicated to preparing students for the challenges of the modern world while utilizing innovation and technology to improve the educational experience.

EXAM FORMAT:

The following papers are included in the Aldenham School 11+ exam:

·       English

·       Mathematics

·       Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning

The English test looks at writing abilities, vocabulary, and grammar in addition to comprehension.

This mathematics exam is meant to assess your child's aptitude for arithmetic and problem-solving.

The main goals of the Verbal Reasoning portion of the Reasoning exam are to evaluate students' use of vocabulary, English language, and logical reasoning.

The purpose of the Non-Verbal Reasoning part is to assess reasoning and intellect rather than knowledge by measuring comprehension, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.

PREPARATION AND TARGET TEST SCORES:

With their well-researched and current questions, our practice exams accurately replicate the actual 11+ exam. They provide a structured approach to 11+ exam preparation that can assist you in determining your child's strong and weak knowledge areas. These practice papers will assist you in recognizing your child's strengths as well as any potential weaknesses, allowing you to modify their study schedule appropriately. A well-planned revision strategy that emphasizes studying "little and often" should make the preparation process a little less taxing and unpleasant.

Students who regularly achieve at least 75% on our 11+ practice exams should be prepared to pass the 11+ exam at Aldenham School. There are no promises, but traditionally, this has been a pretty good sign that your child would perform well in the Aldenham School 11+ exam.
